Quetta-born Kulsoom Hazara has decided to take retirement from Karate after playing for more than 20 years.
Kulsoom, who represented Pakistan in multiple international tournaments, told GeoSuper.tv that she has decided to say good bye to her playing career.
"It's almost 22 years now, Alhamdulillah I have achieved so many things for Pakistan. It's time to say good bye," the Karateka said.
"I will not leave the sport. I will start coaching and try to pass on my experience," she added.
Kulsoom, who is currently in Quetta, will announce her retirement in Karachi after the ongoing 34th National Games. She is not participating in the games due to injury.
The Karateke represented Pakistan for the first time in the fourth Islamic Women's Games in Tehran in 2005. In 2010, she won two Bronze in South Asian Games in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
In the South Asian Karate Championship in 2016 in India, Kulsoom won a Gold and Silver. She won another Gold in South Asian Karate Championship 2017 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
At the 2019 South Asian Games in Kathmandu, Nepal, she won Gold in the team kumite event and a Silver in the 68 kg category.
